As a general rule, signage and advertising devices of up to 3.0 m2 mounted flat on walls do not require an application. But there are many exceptions, both central, local and from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.

We have Central approval from the Norwegian Building Authority, and can send applications on your behalf, both to the municipalities and the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. If you are in doubt, we will help you with the process so that you avoid unpleasant surprises or delays in planned projects. You will also find a lot of information on the Norwegian Building Authority website

If necessary, we start with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration so that their views can be included in the application to the municipality.

All municipalities have their own sign regulations and we have to identify whether or not the measure requires an application for dispensation. In addition, notification must be sent out to neighbours at least 2 weeks before the application is submitted to the municipality, which in turn can spend about 3-12 weeks on its case processing.

As your advisor, we take care of your role as a developer, and we recommend that you delay the production of signs until all approvals are in place.

The municipality has the right to stop or demand the demolition of illegal measures. In subsequent application processing, the authorities will assess the measure and clarify whether demolition or a rectification order is appropriate. You can read more here.

The first and most important phase is to identify your needs, so that we can be a good advisor.

  • Is it a new sign or a replacement for an existing one?
  • Should it be illuminated?
  • Should it be lit outwards or inwards, which gives a slightly different visual effect?
  • What kind of size and type of sign do you want? A sign cabinet or free-standing letters, for example?
  • Should it be perforated or have a solid front?
  • Quantity?
  • Should we prepare a proposal for a service and maintenance agreement at the same time?
  • Maybe you want to see some types of signs in real life to get a better feel of the products?

Get in touch and we will help you with the process.

Sign Consult Norway has a nationwide network of professional fitters who proudly carry out the installation in accordance with requirements from the manufacturer, and the laws, rules and guidelines that apply in Norway.

Our fitters use the digital work tool SpeedyCraft, which continuously exchanges work and service orders between the fitters and project managers. In this way, your job can be documented both before, during and after the work process and all documentation becomes easily available for later use.

Yes, it’s possible - contact us and we will find a price system that suits you.

Yes, we can. Throughout our almost 30 years in business, we have delivered major projects to all the established petrol station chains in Norway, such as Circle K, Esso, Shell, etc.

These are now in the process of adapting to an electrification of the car fleet and a change in consumer behaviour, and we are helping them in this transformation into energy stations.

We use reputable suppliers in the area, and can of course deliver both digital price signs and price masts to other companies as well.

Sign Consult is a total supplier that takes care of everything from mapping needs, preparing a complete sign plan, building application, design, delivery of signs, installation and service and maintenance.

We take care of you throughout the process if desired, and help you to the best and most cost-effective process. Our expertise, central approval and wealth of experience are your security to avoid unnecessary delays and costs.

Yes, we have. Both hot and cold storage - indoors and outdoors. And all the necessary equipment to ensure the safe and efficient loading/unloading of your goods. Feel free to contact us if you want us to help you with your logistics.

Yes, this is one of our most important services that ensures trouble-free brand profiling and the long life of your signs. Did you know that sign manufacturers usually set very clear requirements for how and how often their signs should be cleaned? And that only authorised personnel should perform this work?

And that one of the biggest reasons for issues with signs is the lack of or incorrect maintenance of the signs. For example, do not use a high-pressure washer. We help you find the right service and maintenance agreement that suits your needs. And one that safeguards your right to make a claim against the sign manufacturer.

Most often, we perform work above ground level, and thus do not carry out groundwork such as excavation, cable detection, foundations, etc. It is extremely important that this part of the process is also taken care of correctly, and meets the requirements and load calculations that are required.

If you still want us to take care of this part of the process, we are happy to do so. Get in touch and we will find the best possible solution together.

Sign Consult has central approval from the Norwegian Building Authority, project class 1. The Norwegian Building Authority sets very strict requirements for professional competence, experience, quality management systems and other internal procedure documentation.

We are also certified as Eco-lighthouse.

We continuously ensure that our fitters complete all statutory courses and certifications, especially those related to health, safety and the environment. We also ensure that they have the necessary certificates of competence to ensure safe and efficient installation.

All our fitters are approved “certified personnel” in electrical engineering, and we can therefore offer you a declaration of conformity without the use of an electrician in most cases.

Sign Consult cooperates with a number of sign manufacturers in Europe. When delivering signs for projects in Norway it is important to take into account the special geography of our country.

Norway is a long country with a geography that makes it important to plan deliveries well. Most carriers cross the border in southern Norway. If signs are to be delivered to projects in central south-eastern Norway, the roads are generally good.

But many deliveries go to other locations. Norway is 1700 km from south to north and the coastline is among the longest in the world, with its many fjords and large mountains.

Travelling in Norway is largely characterised by mountain passes, tunnels and fjord crossings by boat. In winter, driving conditions can be challenging and long delays are common.

At Sign Consult we therefore make sure that suppliers plan the delivery well and take geography and seasons into account.
We therefore wish to have close contact with both supplier and transport company, so that the journey and delivery are as efficient as possible.
